Born and Raised in Trumbull, Connecticut to a German Mother and a Greek/Italian American Father, Stephanie's fascination with culture and travel began as a child. With relatives living at home and abroad and having enjoyed extensive travel, amazing food and various languages, Stephanie grew compelled to see the world and tell stories. This prompted her to Study Broadcast Journalism, Journalism and German at the University of Miami, in Coral Gables, Florida. Post graduation she headed straight to NYC to pursue a career in production. Her first opportunity had her at EUE /Screen Gems. From there she worked her way from and Administration and Sales Assistant to Freelance PA, Coordinator, Production Manager, Line Producer, Producer, Head of Production and Executive Producer. Her body of work includes Feature Films, Documentary's, Commercials, Music Videos and Industrials. Her love for logistics and organization along with exciting opportunities to travel and work with people of all trades from all over the world, keeps her motivated to this day. Her fascination with people and culture allows her to manage teams well. Her empathy and respect for people drive her to always have one’s back. She prides herself with providing safe working environments and an environment where teams can thrive and do their best. There is always common ground and always a solution!
Stephanie's ability to structure budgets in all product categories, schedule and devise strategies for each project and create strong relationships with her crew and clients are her biggest assets. Her desire to provide her Photographer's and Director's an environment to which they can express and perform their best while supporting and seeing through Client & Agency needs is her greatest asset. Her career has brought her to almost every State in America, Russia, Germany, England, Holland, Scotland, France, Greece, Italy, Israel, Brasil, Mexico, the Middle East, Asia, and The Caribbean. She always leaves a production team better than when she found them. She is not only a leader but a teacher.
Her Milestones include Producing her first feature film at 24 years old called the Definite Maybe. She then started Production Managing and Producing Music Videos during the golden area of Music Video for the directors like Hype Williams and Chris Robinson in the 90’s. She then enjoyed working on longer form industrial films for Kaleidoscope Productions with clients such as HP, Toyota, and Daimler Chrysler. Her first Documentary Producer Credit was for "Paris Not France" Directed by Adria Petty which headlined at Toronto Film Festival in 2006. As a Head of Production, she worked alongside Executive Producer Michael Jurkovac at cYclops Productions for Director/Photographer Albert Watson where she oversaw global ad campaigns for Exxon Mobil, Emerson Technologies various Pharma companies and more. This experience allowed her to work as a freelance Executive Producer and Producer for Director's Warren and Karen Fischer at Bunker New York. It was there where she fine-tuned her knack for Producing Global Campaigns and enjoyed extensive travel for John Deere, Exxon Mobil, Cleveland Clinic, Intel and more.
From August 2013 - August 2020, Stephanie was the Exective Producer to Acclaimed Fashion Photographer's and Director's Inez and Vinoodh. Originally working at the Collective Shift for 2 years she then moved in house and opened VLM Productions with Inez and Vinoodh. Her role at VLM productions lasted 5 years and extended beyond a typical EP / Producer Role. She oversaw and managed over 16 employees across 3 groups; VLM Productions, VLM Studio, and Stereohorse. They provided Production Services, Retouching, Post Production/Editorial, Flame/Finishing Services and Photo Studio Services. She oversaw and produced over 500 projects for clients like Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Isabel Marant, Viktor and Rolf, Michael Kors, L’Oreal, Sephora, Kate Spade, Tiffany & Co. and more. This rigorous shoot and post schedule demanded her 24-hour attention to her Photographer's and Team Members in order to keep projects moving forward. From Bidding, Strategy, Producing and Post-production Stephanie was involved with every aspect of every project with an incredible team. Beyond production, she proudly sat in the financial seat working and overseeing company finances, cash flow, payables and receivables while overseeing day to day company and employee needs.
Stephanie is now enjoying life as a Freelance Production Consultant, EP & Producer.
Stephanie lives in New York City with her husband, Tony and her beloved Rough Collie, Sir Beckett. She enjoys weekends on her Family's Horse Farm where she rides and teaches English Riding lessons. She enjoys tending to her Organic Vegetable garden and long-distance running.
One of her greatest accomplishments is finishing the 2001 New York Marathon in 4 hours. She enjoys playing Tennis and Golf and gets through the cold New York winters going to Stratton, Vermont where she is an expert Downhill Skier.
She loves Cooking and Entertaining and is a Vegetarian and has begun her Instagram Series with her husband called, “Cooking with the Babes”. CWB is a Vegan/Vegetarian cooking show that celebrates a plant based and sustainable lifestyle. She is an avid Traveler and has a Travel Blog @Solamentestephanie.com. She Speaks German Fluently and understands and speaks French and Spanish on a rudimentary level. She is always attempting languages and currently, she is working on Greek and Cambodian.
Stephanie is an advocate for Animal and Children's rights and protections. She is an active member and Sponsor of 2 Girls at the Cambodian Children's Fund in Cambodia. She rescue's rehabilitates horses with her Sister in Trumbull, Connecticut (Apple pictured above is one of their rescues) and she works tirelessly at educating people on Animal Ethics and Environmental Activism. She believes that it takes 1 person to make a difference. Every action every day can lead to success or failure when it comes to protecting the environment and animals and children.
Recently, She has launched Hemlock Ventures LLC, and Impact investment Consultation Service which can link investors to Impact Investments. She has recently invested in an independent South African film with a social - environmental message is very active with the Cambodian Children’s Fund and Is an Ambassador at Beyond Capital. an Impact Investment Firm.
Her work ethic and empathy for those around her define her core spirit and feel that all managers have a responsibility towards their employees and to those around them. She demands those that work with her to always give their 100% while she will give her 200%. Her biggest joy is teaching people how to produce and then connecting them to careers within the industry. She is famous for giving people a chance and has mentored many people in the industry.
Finally - she enjoys 3-4 weeks every summer in Greece where she can re-charge so she can continue to do all the things she loves.
